Ian was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. It was there that his love for theatre first took root. Whether it be Othello or In the Heights, he was always dying to see the next production at the Milwaukee REP theatre.
He began training as an actor at First Stage Academy, and continued following his passion at Milwaukee High School of the Arts where he focused on theatre. It was there that he began writing, working with the Milwaukee Film Festival to develop his original screenplay "The Vampire Formerly Known as Dracula." He continued writing scripts for stage and screen throughout his college years at the University of Vermont.
Double majoring in theatre and environmental science, Ian found himself drawn to creative projects with social and environmental value. Thanks to the passion and support of his professors, this was also where he expanded upon his love for design and began working in earnest as s stage electrician, carpenter, and lighting designer. Continuing from there, he has been working professionally as an actor, designer, and stage manager after graduating from UVM and moving to NYC.
